Commitment to Building Local Workforce
Since its inception, Brabu has been committed to expanding the local workforce trained in our field.
We are proud to offer our employees opportunities to expand their skills and education both on and off-island. We believe it is every business’ responsibility to increase the skilled workforce for the betterment of the Northern Mariana Islands’ self-sufficiency.
Work Study
As of Brabu’s 16th anniversary, the Pharmacy has successfully sponsored or mentored dozens of employees in completing their on-line Pharmacy Technician classes and obtaining their US Certifications.
Sharmaine Cabrera is an intern gearing up to take her certification exam (pictured on the right). Aubrey Tagum (pictured on the left) brings with her a degree in pharmacy from Philippines and has become the most recent to become certified in the U.S.
These opportunities are available to those who have been working for Brabu full-time for at least a year and have demonstrated good character with excellent attendance. The expectation is for the employees to return to our islands.
“Being part of the Brabu family is a blessing.”

Women’s Business Daily
For over 16 years, Brabu has been in the forefront of producing trained professionals in customer service, pharmacy, book keeping as well as accounting. Brabu familia has the signature mark of courteous confidence punctuated with efficiency.
It all started with Winona Maratita who became the first to pursue a career in pharmacy but it was Patsylynn Cepeda who went all the way to earn her Doctorate in Pharmacy and return to Brabu. With the right combination of employee determination and unwavering encouragement and support from management. Brabu has seen dozens of employees attain their U.S. certifications in pharmacy with some going all the way to earn their doctorates. Minori Yoshida had her pharmacy passion start at Brabu and received her doctorate from Rutgers University.
Lead by Example
No one works harder than Ted Parker, Managing Partner and Kathy Yuknavage, Administering Partner. Staff learn to advocate for their patients as they observe hours or days spent on the phone to make sure a customer gets the medication they need. Partnerships and new business ideas often have their start from this patient advocacy. But there is balance, Ted is never too far from his instrument of choice: tuba. Kathy is never too busy for her canine babies. Everything is performed with utmost care but never too seriously.
Brabu means to work hard but to work together in harmony with laughs.
With Integrity
Every shelf and transaction Brabu has with its customers is a transaction of integrity. Staff learn quickly to do the most you can for that individual whether it is with a friendly smile or calling their insurance provider. It is 16 years of learning to meet the needs of local population with professionalism and integrity that Brabu imparts to its employees. That is Brabu.
“A patient’s well-being is always first. Everything else is second.”
